You will be amazed to see the difference in your skin within a matter of days.
Here Are The 14 Everyday Skincare Habits For Healthy Skin:
1. Clean Face At Night
Starting with the night routine, remember that cleansing you face at night is more important than the morning. Why? Because at night your skin undergoes major rejuvenation and the cells are resting too. It your pores are blocked with dirt and other particles, you will not be giving your skin enough room for breathing free.
2. Apply Night Cream
The concept of applying night cream is again essential because as they skin has been washed and cleansed, the nutrients and natural oils are gone for a while. The purpose of the night cream is to ensure that your skin is getting nutrients when it is working the hardest – at night. So choose one as per your age.
3. Drink Water As You Get
Once you are up, ensure that you drink at least 2 glasses of water. Alternatively, you can also drink warm water mixed with some lemon juice along with honey here. This helps in cleansing and detoxifying the skin. Some women prefer drinking water soaked in fenugreek seeds or coriander seeds for this purpose too.
Exercising of any form is suggested to be followed everyday. On the whole, if you are exercising for 4 days a week for about 30-40 minutes, you are sweating out. This sweat is a great way for your body to get rid of toxins, which again clog and don’t let your skin breathe freely. So make sure that you do either yoga, Pilates, cardio or whatever exercise you want.
5. Use A Sunscreen Cum Moisturiser
Always use a sunscreen before you step out of the house. This rule applies for both winter and summer months. The sunscreen should be applied 10-15 minutes prior to stepping out so that it is actionable when you are out. You can use a sunscreen as per your skin type for oily, dry or normal skin. A suggestion here is to save the time and hassle of applying two creams. Just use a sunscreen, which doubles as a moisturiser to save on time.
6. Wash Your Hands Often
So what does washing your hand have to do with skincare? If you think about it, the dirtier your hand, the dirtier your face becomes. When you are touching and wiping your face with those dirty palms, you are adding to the already cluttered and clogged pores, this leads to a lot of skin issues like pimples, acne, etc. So keep washing hands and splash some water on the face too.
7. Eating Healthy
Sure have your share of junk, but for most part of the day, think of eating healthier foods that are rich in fibre, nutrients and antioxidants to give your skin a boost. It could be fruits and fresh veggies, some juices without added sugar and even yogurt, which is a healthy and safe probiotic. Alternatively, you should try and avoid fried foods. If you do eat fried, opt for olive oil or coconut oil, which is healthier for your skin. Plus focus on good fats from avocado, nuts and other ingredients as they are healthy for an essential glow.
8. Use A Toner
A toner or spray is highly recommended for toning your skin. Basically a toner is like an astringent that is great for preventing problems of open pore skin. Though it is highly suggested for women with oily skin, it really works for those with normal skin too. Just spray on a little bit on your face now and then and enjoy the benefit of a health glow.
9. Use Natural Products
If possible, avoid using natural or organic based products as they are safer for your skin. In fact, chemical based products may have adverse reactions but these natural skin care products are safe and include the comprehensive range of face washes, moisturisers, etc.
10. Exfoliate and Scrub Once A Week
Once a week you can opt for a scrubbing and exfoliating routine. There are many options that you can chose here like using fresh almonds paste or even apricot scrub for getting rid of dead cells. Alternatively, you can use readymade scrubs too. But these are essential for getting rid of impurities from deep within the skin.
11. Keep Your Hair And Scalp Clean
Your skin is affected by the behaviour of your hair and scalp too. For instance, if you have a very dirty scalp that is prone to dandruff, the sam would fall continuously on the face. And this would result in impurities, acne and dandruff. Also, the sweat from the scalp would be going there so make sure that you wash your hair often too.
12. Get Enough Sleep At Night
Not getting enough sleep at night is one of the primary causes of skin problems. Most women are tired and fatigued in the morning because they are not resting enough. Ideally, you should sleep for a least 7-8 hours at night. Not doing so means that your skin is not getting enough time to rejuvenate. Also, this leads to a lot of other skin problems like eye bags and dark circles under the eyes.
13. Avoid Caffeine
Caffeine is a major cause of skin problems. It is known for instantly boosting energy but then the added sugar and chemicals in caffeine tend to make the cells sluggish. These sluggish cells further reduce the functions of your cell regeneration and cause skin related issues. Instead of caffeine, you should try having tea without sugar, especially green tea, which is rich in antioxidants.
14. Clean Your Face Thrice A Day
2 times is not enough because of increase in pollution levels. Wash face in morning and at night with a face wash and use a wet wipe or deep cleansing tissue to clean the face once during the day. This will prevent your skin pores from clogging up. You can pick from different wipes to suit your skin type too.
